후퇴하는 적란운

 

 

 

이 구름은 무슨 유형의 구름일까?

 

뒤쪽으로 후퇴하고 있는 이 적란운은 좀더 일반적으로는 '뇌운'이라 불리는데 이 구름의 앞쪽 끝자락에는 특이하게 울퉁불퉁한 형상을 가진 맘마투스 구름이 형성되어 있고 동시에 반대쪽 끝부분에서는에 비를 뿌리고 있는 다소 특이한 모습을 보여주고 있다.

6월 중순 캐나다 알베르타 남부에서 촬영된 이 사진에는 카메라 뒷편 서쪽에서 태양이 지고 있을 때 사진에서 멀리 떨어진 방향인 동쪽으로 구름이 움직이고 있는 모습이 담겼다. 

 

하늘을 가로지르고 있는 석양 빛이 이미 그 자체로도 훌륭한 사진인 구름에 인상적인 오랜지 색과 분홍색 빛을 주고 있다.

어두워지고 있는 파란색 하늘이 배경을 덮고 있다.

저 멀리에는 볼록한 모양의 떠오르는 상현달이 오른쪽으로 보인다.

A Retreating Thunderstorm at Sunset

Explanation: What type of cloud is that? This retreating cumulonimbus cloud, more commonly called a thundercloud, is somewhat unusual as it contains the unusual bumpiness of a mammatus cloud on the near end, while simultaneously producing falling rain on the far end. Taken in mid-June in southern Alberta, Canada, the cloud is moving to the east, into the distance, as the sun sets in the west, behind the camera. In the above image, graphic sunset colors cross the sky to give the already photogenic cloud striking orange and pink hues. A darkening blue sky covers the background. Further in the distance, a rising, waxing, gibbous moon is visible on the far right.
