악마의 탑 위의 미리내

16개의 사진을 이어붙인 이 파노라마 사진에는 와이오밍 평원 북동부의 어두운 하늘 위로 악마의 탑이라고 불리는 신비로운 지층이 솟아있다.

얇고 창백한 밤하늘의 구름에 대비하여 섬뜩한 초록색 대기광과 성단과 성운들을 품고 있는 미리내의 아치가 사진 오른쪽 은하 중심부를 향해 흐르고 있다.

 

물론 이 사진에는 미리내를 따라 할로윈의 으스스한 얼굴에 속하는 유령과, 불타는 해골, 불타오르는 눈과 마녀의 빗자루가 포함되어 있다.

Milky Way over Devils Tower

Explanation: A mysterious formation known as Devils Tower rises into the dark above northeastern Wyoming's prairie landscape in this 16 frame panoramic view. Seen against the night sky's thin, pale clouds and eerie green airglow, star clusters and nebulae of the Milky Way arc toward the galaxy's central realm at right. Of course the scene contains the Milky Way's own haunting and grisly visages of halloween, including ghosts, a flaming skull, a glowing eye and a witch's broom.
