NASA 던 우주선이 촬영한 이 사진은 1,470킬로미터 고도에서 촬영한 세레스 남반구의 일부를 보여주고 있다.

 

이 사진은 2015년 9월 28일 촬영되었으며 사진의 해상도는 픽셀 당 140 미터이다.

 

사진에는 인도와 이란 지역의 대지의 정령 이름을 딴 직경 163킬로미터의 우르바라 충돌구덩이(Urvara crater)가 자리잡고 있다.

This image, taken by NASA's Dawn spacecraft, shows a portion of the southern hemisphere of dwarf planet Ceres from an altitude of 915 miles (1,470 kilometers). The image was taken on Sept. 28, 2015, and has a resolution of 450 feet (140 meters) per pixel.

Urvara crater, named for the Indian and Iranian deity of plants and fields, is featured. Its diameter is 101 miles (163 kilometers).

Dawn's mission is managed by JPL for NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington. Dawn is a project of the directorate's Discovery Program, managed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. UCLA is responsible for overall Dawn mission science. Orbital ATK, Inc., in Dulles, Virginia, designed and built the spacecraft. The German Aerospace Center, the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research, the Italian Space Agency and the Italian National Astrophysical Institute are international partners on the mission team.
