야상곡 : 2012년 David Milan Award 동영상부문 수상작

 

밤하늘의 변화하는 모습을 본적이 있는가?

밤하늘은 때대로 찬란하게 그리고 전혀 예상치 못한 모습으로 변화한다.

하지만 그것을 보기 위해서는 대체로 많은 인내심이 필요하다.

호주 중서부천문학회(CWAS,  the Central West Astronomical Society)가 주최하는 천문학 사진 컨테스트인 David Malin Award의 수상작인 이 영상에는 드라마틱하게 변화하는 밤하늘의 모습이 저속비디오에 담겨 있다.

 

영상에는 일몰의 태양빛을 받으며 밝게 빛나는 구름의 움직임과 떠오르는 별들의 생생한 색채, 러브조이 혜성의 기다란 꼬리가 늘어선 모습과 하늘을 가로지르는 인공위성의 불빛, 폭발하는 유성과 번개폭풍의 접근, 마젤란 성운과 함께 회전하는 하늘의 모습과 달빛에 밝게 빛나는 전경과 함께 어안렌즈에 담긴 회전하는 하늘의 모습이 담겨있다.

 

예술적으로 표현된 인간 조각상이 등장하는 가운데 남반구의 하늘이 어우러지는 모습이 자주 나오며 개기월식을 마지막으로 영상을 끝을 맺고 있다.

Explanation: Have you ever seen the night sky change? It does -- sometimes in beautiful and unexpected ways. To see it, though, usually requires patience. The above award winning video shows several of the possible changes in dramatic fashion with a time lapse video. Visible are sunset-illuminated clouds moving, stars of vivid colors rising, the long tail of a Comet Lovejoy rising, bright satellites crossing, a meteor exploding, a distant lightning storm approaching, skyscapes including the Magellanic Clouds rotating, and a fisheye sky rotating while the foreground becomes illuminated by moonlight. Frequently featuring an artistic human sculpture in the foreground and the southern sky in the background, the video closes with a time lapse clip of a total lunar eclipse.
