호주 피너클 상공의 미리내와 황도광

이 이상한 세계는 무엇일까?

이 이상한 세계는 바로 지구이다. 

 

앞쪽으로 보이는 것은 피너클(the Pinnacles)이라는 것으로서 서호주 남붕 국립공원에 솟아있는 특이한 뾰족 바위들이다.

고대 바다의 조개 껍데기로 만들어진 이 석회암이 어떻게 사람 크기의 그림과 같은 뾰족돌로 만들어졌는지는 여전히 규명해야 할 과제로 남아 있다. 

 

이 파노라마 사진은 지난 달 촬영되었다.

 

태양빛이 행성들 사이에서 공전하는 먼지 부스러기에 반사되면서 만들어지는 황도광이 사진 중앙 지평선에서부터 피어오르고 있다. 

높은 하늘로 아치를 드리우고 있는 것은 미리내의 중심띠이다.

 

목성과 토성 그리고 여러 유명한 별들이 밤하늘을 장식하고 있다.

Milky Way and Zodiacal Light over Australian Pinnacles

Explanation: What strange world is this? Earth. In the foreground of the featured image are the Pinnacles, unusual rock spires in Nambung National Park in WesternAustralia. Made of ancient sea shells (limestone), how these human-sized picturesque spires formed remains a topic of research. The panorama was taken last month. A ray of zodiacal light, sunlight reflected by dust grains orbiting between the planets in the Solar System, rises from the horizon near the image center. Arching across the top is the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy. The planets Jupiter and Saturn, as well as several famous stars are also visible in the background night sky.
