Kepler-62f

 

 

 

이 상상화는 케플러-62f(Kepler-62f)라는 슈퍼 지구 급의 행성을 묘사한 것으로

이 행성은 거문고 자리 1200광년 거리에 태양보다 약간 작고 차가운 별의 주위, 생명체 거주 가능 영역을 공전하고 있는 행성이다.

 

케플러 62f는 267일을 주기로 자신의 별을 공전하고 있으며 크기는 지구 대비 40%정도 더 크다.

크기는 규명이 됐지만 질량과 구성성분에 대해서는 아직 알려진 것이 없다.

 

그러나 이전에 발견된 외계 행성을 근거로 볼 때, 이 행성은 암석질 행성과 유사한 크기이며,

과학자들은 이전 관측자료들과 연계하여 그 질량을 규명해 낼 수 있을 것이다.

Kepler-62f, a Small Habitable Zone World

 

The artist's concept depicts Kepler-62f, a super-Earth-size planet in the habitable zone of a star smaller and cooler than the sun, located about 1,200 light-years from Earth in the constellation Lyra.

Kepler-62f orbits it's host star every 267 days and is roughly 40 percent larger than Earth in size. The size of Kepler-62f is known, but its mass and composition are not. However, based on previous exoplanet discoveries of similar size that are rocky, scientists are able to determine its mass by association.
